Harrison Is Third Prep This Week To Run Under 4 Minutes In The Mile By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor Rheinhardt Harrison achieved one of the biggest goals of his high school running career Friday night when he ran 3:59.33 for the full mile and won a high school race by 12 seconds at the Golden South Series Meet #2 in Florida. Harrison became the third high school runner this week to run under four minutes, joining Gary Martin and Connor Burns, who did it together Thursday night at the HOKA Festival of Miles in St. Louis. Harrison, a University of Oregon recruit, becomes the 16th high schooler to run under four minutes. In two previous attempts during the indoor season in February, Harrison had run 4:01.15 and 4:03.13 at the University of Arkansas. The Nease FL senior built his high school season around working on speed and winning the Florida Class 4A 800-meter title, which he did May 14 with 1:48.62. After his sophomore year, in Augurst of 2020, Harrison took two shots at a sub-four mile and ran under 4:03 both times but did not get it. Harrison's time moves him to No. 8 on the all-time list.
